DPO Personal Data Protection Officer (DATA PROTECTION OFFICER)
On 25/5/2018, the new European Regulation 679/2016 on Personal Data Protection will be implemented and concerns business – structures – educational organizations that manage personal data. Developments are immediate and require the preparation of executives who will assume the role of Data Protection Officer. In the event of non-compliance with the Regulation, businesses and public sector bodies will be required to pay increased fines of up to € 20 million or 4% of their total annual turnover in addition to other penalties (civil and criminal).
They are required to designate a Data Protection Officer (DPO):
• All Public Authorities and Bodies that process personal data (Health, Education, Law Offices, etc.)
• Businesses that process large-scale or personal data (businesses that hold personal information about customers, suppliers, members, trainees, staff or even third parties).
