What is the Braille code?
It is a system of writing and reading of blinds and not language as many believe, which has been officially recognized by the state by law 36/99 of 2008. It was created by Louis Braiile in 1829, who lost his eyesight while he was still a child in his father’s workshop in 1824 at the age of 15 years.
It is based on six embossed dots, the so-called six-Stigmas, of which 63 combinations emerge. From these combinations one can form the alphabet in any language, numbers and even musical notes. Each language naturally has its mannerisms in this system.

Who does it concern?
Professors, teachers, kindergartens and all those interested in teaching or belonging to the category of special education and parallel support. Braille courses also make other professional classes such as social workers, speech therapists and occupational therapists psychologists, who are appointed as Special scientific staff in special education structures. The courses are attended by several parents. It is very important that the parents of children with disabilities or a brother or relative know the writing so that they can help children with homework.

How long does the course last?
The learning takes 52 hours. It includes expert teacher theory and hands-on practice on typewriters specially designed for the blind. At the end of the courses a certificate of attendance is required for the certification exams by the Center for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind.
